DUSHANBE, 10.12.2017 /NIAT “Khovar”/. The Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan His Excellency Emomali Rahmon had a meeting with Jordan’s Prime Minister Dr. Hani al-Mulqi on the sidelines of his official visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

President Emomali Rahmon stressed that Tajikistan and Jordan have vast potential for expanding cooperation and stepping it to a higher level. He also added that Tajikistani side reaffirmed its readiness for further expansion of cooperation taking into account the national interests of the two friendly states.

It was stressed that the establishing of close inter-ministerial contacts would be an effective and important mechanism for enhancing cooperation between the two friendly countries.

During the meeting, the sides discussed issues of cooperation within the framework of regional and international organizations in order to ensure security and stability in war-torn countries and to promote the development of the states of the region.

The talks were held in an atmosphere of friendship and mutual understanding. The parties also exchanged views on other aspects of Tajik-Jordanian relations of mutual interest.

Following the talks, a package of documents on cooperation was signed in the presence of the President of Tajikistan and Prime Minister of Jordan.

— Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on exemption of visa requirements for holders of diplomatic passports;

— Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on bilateral political consultations;

— Agreement on cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in economic, trade, scientific and technical domains;

— Agreement on cooperation between the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in the field of agriculture;

— Agreement on cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in the field of culture and art;

— Agreement on cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in the field of tourism;

— Agreement on cooperation between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan;

— Agreement on cooperation between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on the establishment of Tajik-Jordanian Business Council.
