DUSHANBE, 22.12.2017. /NIAT “Khovar”/. With a view to developing tourism, presenting our country’s unique tourism opportunities and national culture at the international stage, as well as attracting investment for tourism infrastructure improvement, I would like to propose to declare 2018 as the Year of tourism and folk- crafts in the country. It was stated today, December 22 by the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan H.E. Mr. Emomali Rahmon.

According to him, in this process, the Government needs to make sure to allocate preferential loans to entrepreneurs and artisans through the Business Support Fund to develop the national folk-crafts. With a view to encouraging population for production of public consumption goods and development of folk-crafts the sale of such products needs to release from all tax payments starting from January 1, 2018

“Tourism is one of the major spheres to attract the working age population, to increase the population’s living standard, to develop other service and productive spheres, as well as tourism is the sphere introducing the history and culture, nature and national traditions.”, — said the Head of State.
