More Than 17,000 Tourists Visited Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region in 2025

DUSHANBE, 22.07.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – In the first six months of this year, 17,921 tourists visited the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO), reports the Executive Body of State Authority of GBAO.
Among the region’s main attractions are majestic mountains, fast-flowing rivers, crystal-clear lakes, fresh and eco-friendly cuisine, unique architecture, as well as the local culture and lifestyle.
In 2024, the cities and districts of the region welcomed 40,000 tourists, which is 13 times more than in 2021.
This growth reflects a significant increase in both domestic and international interest in the region’s tourism potential.
