Tajikistan delegation attended the 24th meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers OSCE participating States
DUSHANBE, 09.12.2017 /NIAT «Khovar»/. The delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirodjidin Aslov participated at the 24th session of the OSCE Council of Foreign Ministers in Vienna on December 7.
According to the Infroamtion Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan, in his speech, Sirodjidin Aslov expressed his opinion on the interests of Tajikistan on topical issues of the session agenda and the solution of existing problems in the OSCE region, underlined the joint efforts to combat terrorism, extremism and illicit drug trafficking, as well as the need to expand cooperation in the review process of the Office on Democracy Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE/ODIHR) and strengthening security in the region.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs called some OSCE countries to avoid the policy of double standards in the fight against terrorism and extremism and provide comprehensive assistance for the promotion of the relentless fight and eradicate these threats in the region, including Tajikistan.
In addition, concern was expressed about the growing problems of terrorism, extremism and drugs trafficking and the growth of terrorist groups, urging the OSCE to take concrete steps to strengthen the state border, in particular by providing financial and technical assistance support.
