DUSHANBE, 26.01.2018 /NIAT “Khovar”/. The Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon has chaired today the 18-th Session of the Consultative Council on Improvement of Investment Climate.

The Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon delivered the keynote speech and introduced Executive Secretary, the Chairman of the State Committee on Investments and State-owned Property Management of the Republic of Tajikistan – Farrukh Hamralizoda, the Head of EBRD’s Representation Office in Tajikistan – Ayten Rustamova, the Head of Secretariat of the Consultative Council on Improvement of the Investment Climate under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan – Sharaf Sheralizoda and other new members of the Council.

The Council’s Executive Secretary – the Chairman of the State Committee on Investment and State-owned Property Management of the Republic of Tajikistan Farrukh Hamralizoda reported on the results of monitoring of implementation of decisions of 17-th Consultative Council’s session.

Particularly it has been informed on adoption of New Tariff Methodology dated May 26, 2017 and its introduction since October of the last year, improvement of Tajikistan’s position in the Doing Business Report of the World Bank Group for 2018, reducing the number of inspections of activity of business entities down to 52% in 2017 comparing to the 2016 and establishment of the sovereign credit rating of the country by international rating agencies Moody’s Investors Service as well as Standard and Poors on the level “В3, stable” on August 2017.

Concerning the second item of the Session agenda, Minister of Transport of the Republic of Tajikistan Khudoyor Khudoyorzoda reported on the Draft Action Plan of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan on Improvement of Investment Climate in Transport and Logistics sectors.

Another issue considered at the Session was the report of the Chairman of Sughd Province Ahmadzoda Rajabboy on activity of the regional Consultative Council on Improvement of Investment Climate under the Chairman of Sughd Province.

Concerning the forth item of the agenda, Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan Jamshed Nurmahmadzoda presented results of the analyses and Draft Action Plan of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan on Improvement of Investment Climate in Finance and Banking Sectors.

On the last item of the Session agenda the Council’s Executive Secretary Farrukh Hamralizoda spoke and proposed an issue on improvement of investment climate in education and science as well as submitting results of analyses the tax system issues and efficiency of envisaged incentives, which was supported by all members of the Council.

Also the Chairperson of DCC – Kristin Laabs, Head of EBRD Representation Office in Tajikistan – Ayten Rustamova, ADB Country Director – Pradeep Srivastava, Chief Representative of JICA in Tajikistan – Hideki Tanabe, “Korporatsiyai Mohii Tojik” LLC Director – Suhrob Davlatov, “Zindagy” Cooperative – Zevarshoi Rustam, “Tajikvneshtrans” LLC Director – Abdumumin Abdusamadov, “Kazcommersbank Tajikistan” OJSC Chairman – Ramesh Khudoiev and Director for OJSC “Birjai Osiyoi Markazi” Alisher Shernazarov presented their views regarding the considered issues at the session.

At the completion of the Session, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan delivered final speech and gave relevant instructions to the responsible ministries and agencies on issues considered in the Session.
