DUSHANBE, 19.01.2018. /NIAT “Khovar”/. The U.S. Department of State assessed the Republic of Tajikistan as one of the safest and stable states for travel and advised its citizens to travel to it.

As the head of the press center of the Committee for Tourism Development under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan Abdukarim Qurbonov reports NIAT “Khovar”, thanks to the constructive and consistent efforts of the Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon the attention of the international community to the tourism resources of Tajikistan is increasing and the image of the country as a peaceful state and having rich tourism resources becomes even more stable.

According to him, the number of foreign tourists, including American citizens, travelling to Tajikistan is increasing year by year. According to the Committee for Tourism Development, the number of foreign tourists increased by 25% in 2017. In 2017, the citizens of 146 countries visited Tajikistan, and in total, the number of tourists has been increased in this year to over 430 thousand people. In particular, in 2017, more than 5,000 American citizens have traveled to Tajikistan, of which 2947 people visited for travel.

Also, Qurbonov noted that the capital of Tajikistan – Dushanbe city has been recognized as part of top 10 safe places on ensuring night security, and according to the official statistics of the World Tourism Organization, the tourism sphere of the Republic of Tajikistan is at the stage of development.

It was also noted that Tajikistan ranks fourth place in the TOP-5 countries with a simplified visa procedure.

Tajikistan also ranked 7th place in top 20 adventure travel destinations among 80 states in the rating of the International organization “British Backpacker Society”.

It should be noted that the Government of Tajikistan is continuously striving to attract more tourists to Tajikistan using the natural resources of the country. For this purpose, a new structure — Committee for Tourism Development under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan was established last year.

The next support of the Head of State Emomali Rahmon on announcing 2018 as the Year of Tourism and Folk Crafts Development, which was proposed in his annual Address to Majlisi Oli of the country on December 22, 2017, will give a serious impulse to the promotion of tourism companies activities on improving the quality of services, worthy presentation of tourism potential of the republic and free stay of tourists and foreign guests.
