Tajikistan delegation attended the meeting of Foreign Ministers of Visegrad Group and Central Asia
DUSHANBE, 28.02.2018 /NIAT “Khovar”/. The first Meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Visegrad Group (Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia) countries and Central Asia took place in Budapest on February 27 at the initiative of the Government of Hungary which is holding this year the presidency of the Visegrad Group. NIAT “Khovar” has been reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the republic of Tajikistan.
According to the program of the meeting, the participants exchanged views on the issues related to the establishment of cooperation between the regions of Central Asia and Central Europe, expansion of economic ties between the two regions with a focus on water and energy issues.
“The delegation of Tajikistan was led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Muzaffar Huseynzoda. The head of Tajik delegation drew the attention of delegates to the necessity of strengthening cooperation in the fields of energy, economy, trade, investments, education, tourism and implementation of infrastructure projects in the sectors of transport and communication”, — says the message of the ministry.
It is reported that taking into account the announcement of 2018 as the “Year of Tourism Development and Folk Crafts” in Tajikistan, M. Huseynzoda also called upon the participants to set up mutually beneficial cooperation with a view to enhancing infrastructure potential and tourism industry, as well as folk crafts development.
In the run-up to the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development”, 2018-2028, the head of Tajik delegation urged the participating countries to take part at the relevant level in the High-Level Dialogue of the UN General Assembly in New York in March 2018 and in the International High-Level Conference in Dushanbe in June 2018.
