President Emomali Rahmon made a working trip to Sughd Province
The Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon made a working trip to Sughd Province. The President’s trip came on the eve of the International Navruz Holiday. During his trip, the head of state got acquainted with the socio-economic development and participated in official opening ceremonies for a number of economic and social facilities.
While on working trip to Panjakent city, the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon attended a ceremony of introducing the 220kV power transmission line “Ayni-Rudaki” and the rehabilitated substation “Rudaki” into operation within the framework of Wholesale Metering and Transmission Reinforcement Project.
It was informed that substation can be used to supply electricity to Uzbekistan’s Samarqand region and receive electricity from Uzbekistan.
ADB and the Government of Tajikistan signed on January 27, 2015 a $54 million grant agreement to complete the first and second lots of this project.
National Power Company “Barqi Tojik” and TBEA Co Ltd (China) signed on December 28, 2015, a $ 23 million agreement to complete the second part of the second lot of the project.
In accordance with bilateral agreements, $ 26, 371, 929 million was spent to complete this project’s part. The main objective of the project is to introduce a wholesale metering and billing system.
In addition, in Pankakent city, the President of Tajikistan, the Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon took part in an official ceremony of commissioning of a large cultural complex and kindergarten.
After that the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon visited National Exhibition of Folk Art in the Sogdian Tradition.
Later, the Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon attended a gala concert dedicated to the International Navruz holiday. The President warmly congratulated the people of Tajikistan and residents of Panjakent city with the onset of the International Navruz holiday.
In the continuation of his tour to Sughd Province, the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon visited Istaravshan city and got acquainted with operation of pumping plants “Qizili” and “Seksari” that have been rehabilitated and introduced into operation.
The head of state was informed that with introducing of these pumping plants into operation will be improved the reclamation of 4,000 hectares of lands.
In the city of Buston, the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon attended an official opening ceremony of a new flour mill plant with capacity of processing 380 tons of wheat per day. This plant has been built by Anhor Ltd.
After that the Leader of the Nation took part in an official opening ceremony of modern four-storey hotel “Parliament” in Khujand.
