Dushanbe hosted the first meeting of the Tajik-Uzbek Business Council
DUSHANBE, 09.03.2018. /NIAT “Khovar”/. The first meeting of the Business Council of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan was held yesterday evening in Dushanbe, NIAT “Khovar” correspondent reports.
The meeting was attended by 120 representatives of small and medium-sized businesses, private sector, as well as representatives of the interested ministries and agencies of the two countries
During the meeting it was noted that Tajikistan and Uzbekistan support the further development of trade and economic relations, the expansion of mutual supplies of demanded industrial products, the creation of favorable conditions for stimulating mutual trade, as well as count on the cardinal development of investment cooperation with the implementation of mutually beneficial projects and programs in priority sectors of the economy. Its evidence is the resumption of work of 8 road and one railway checkpoints on the border of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
The participants stressed that further development of multifaceted cooperation between the two countries, based on the historical closeness and cultural similarity of the two peoples, is one of the priorities of the foreign policy of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
Following the meeting, there were signed a protocol, providing for an Action plan to further activate the participation of representatives of small and medium-sized businesses and private entrepreneurship at the events, held in the territories of the parties for 2018, on the basis of chambers of commerce and industry of the two countries, as well as more than 20 bilateral trade, economic and investment documents.
The second meeting of the Business Council will be held in Tashkent in the second half of 2018.
