DUSHANBE, 07.03.2018 /NIAT “Khovar”/. The issues to develop and improve normative legal acts of tourism sphere, programs and strategies using international experience, improve the level of services through holding training courses, as well as the ways to promote tourism opportunities were discussed at the meeting of the Chairman of the Committee for Tourism Development under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan Numon Abdughafforzoda with experts of the World Bank Group on tourism.

The experts of the World Bank Group highly appreciated the reforms of the tourism sphere in Tajikistan, which were carried out at the initiative of the Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, including the implementation of tax and customs benefits in tourism sphere, the introduction of an electronic visa system as a regional best practice, the recognition of tourism opportunities at the international level and the announcement of 2018 as the Year of Tourism and Folk Crafts Development.

The parties had also an exchange of views on these issues, as well as the World Bank Group expressed its readiness to support the tourism sphere.
