Tajikistan’s delegation attended the 8th UNWTO Silk Road Ministers Meeting in Berlin
DUSHANBE, 09.03.2018 /NIAT “Khovar”/. On March 7, as part of the 2018 Berlin International Tourism Exhibition, there was held the 8th UNWTO Silk Road Ministers Meeting. The work of this meeting was attended by First Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Tourism Development under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan Habibullo Amirbekzoda and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan in the Federal Republic of Germany Maliksho Nematov. NIAT “Khovar” has been reported by the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in Germany.
According to the source, the newly elected Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organization Zurab Pololikashvili opening session, told about the importance of tourism development in the modern world, the creation of new jobs, and raising the level of life for millions of people, and appreciated very useful the role of the Great Silk Road brand for the program member states.
Then, as part of the meeting, the exchange of views took place on the tourism development among the Silk Road program countries. The delegation of Tajikistan informed the participants about tourism development in the Republic of Tajikistan and measures taken by the state and the Government of the country, particularly the special attention of the Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon to this sector. In particular, it was noted that 2018 has been announced in the Republic of Tajikistan as the Year of Tourism and Folk Crafts Development, which will further give a new impetus to the development of tourism sphere in the country.
