Meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif
DUSHANBE, 16.04.2018 /NIAT “Khovar”/. Ahead of the 23rd session of the ECO Council of Foreign Ministers in Dushanbe, the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon had a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif.
The two sides discussed various aspects of bilateral cooperation. They, in particular, discussed the implementation of agreements on expansion of trade and economy, energy, transportation, industrial and agricultural cooperation as well as people-to-people and humanitarian ties that had been previously reached between the two countries.
The issues concerning cooperation in the sphere of security were also considered.
In this regard, the Head of State Emomali Rahmon emphasized that the foreign policy of Tajikistan is free from «double standards» and at all levels is conducted in a constructive and transparent manner.
It was also emphasized that Tajikistan with its public policy is at the forefront of the fight against terrorism, extremism and religious radicalism.
During the conversation, the sides also exchanged views on issues related to cooperation within the framework of regional and international organizations.
