DUSHANBE, 11.06.2018. /NIAT “Khovar”/. On June 10, 2018, the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon arrived to the Henan Province capital — Zhengzhou after the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit.

The President of the Republic of Tajikistan held talks with the Governor of Central China’s Henan Province Chen Run’er to discuss pertaining issues of interregional cooperation between Tajikistan and China.

The President of the country pointed that «we are satisfied with the development of multilateral ties with friendly neighboring country of China and overall, cooperation in the regional level occupies an important place as well».

The parties during a sincere conversation discussed matters related to current issues of the Tajikistani-Chinese strategic partnership. They also paid special attention to the issues of implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding on Joint Promoting of the Construction of the Silk Road Economic Belt — “One Belt One Road Initiative”, Tajikistan’s National Development Strategy for the period up to 2030 and the Program on cooperation between Tajikistan and China.

The head of state appreciated the attraction of Chinese investments and companies of this country for the use of resources and broad material opportunities, beneficial for both sides.

The development of cooperation in the areas of mining industry, chemistry, light and textile manufacturing, agriculture, as well as effective use of our rich hydropower and mineral resources was called one of the promising areas of cooperation.

The sides also discussed other issues being of mutual interest, in particular, the creation of joint ventures to plant new crops of agricultural products in Tajikistan, including cotton, corn and wheat.

Expansion of bilateral relations in the cultural and humanitarian spheres, in the field of sport, mountaineering, healthcare, ethnic sphere and development of international hunting in Tajikistan were recognized as one of the mutually beneficial directions for both sides.
