DUSHANBE, 20.08.2018 /NIAT “Khovar”/. On August 20 at the Government house, the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon chaired a regular meeting of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The meeting participants examined a number of current matters, including on progress in implementing of the Presidential instructions and implementation of Tajikistan’s Government resolutions.

President of the country Emomali Rahmon shared his impressions of his recent state visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan, which was completed with significant results for the development and expansion of traditional relations of friendship, brotherhood, and good-neighborliness.

It was noted that this visit with its effective results will be inscribed in gold letters in the history of bilateral relationships between the two neighboring countries. One of the significant outcomes is enhancing the relationships of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan to the level of strategic partnership.

The reciprocal state visits of Heads of State, signing of packages of documents, holding of business forums, EXPO, cultural programs entitled “Evening of Friendship”, opening of 16 border checkpoints, restoration of air communication, highways, tangible activities of the Tajikistan – Uzbekistan Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation and other factors made it possible for the Tajik and Uzbek peoples to once again become closer and strengthen their family ties.

The President of the country, Emomali Rahmon expressed his sincere gratitude to industrialists, businessmen and entrepreneurs for presenting the best examples of goods and products, industrial achievements «Made in Tajikistan», as well as cultural and art figures for organizing a colorful and informative cultural program entitled «Evening of Friendship».

The Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon has instructed the members of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Board of the Intergovernmental Commission on the development and strengthening of relations between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, as well as the Tajikistan – Uzbekistan Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation to take concrete measures to implement the reached agreements recently signed in Uzbekistan.

Other instructions were given in connection with comprehensive preparation for the nationwide celebration of the state independence of the Republic of Tajikistan, strengthening of creative and improvement works.
