Tajikistan will take part in the World EXPO 2020 Dubai
DUSHANBE, 09.11.2018 /NIAT “Khovar”/. Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry /CCI/ of the Republic of Tajikistan Sharif Said and Executive Director of the Bureau EXPO 2020 Dubai Najib Mohammed al-Ali on November 8 signed an agreement on participation of the Republic of Tajikistan in the World EXPO 2020 Dubai.
According to the CCI press center, Sharif Said expressed gratitude for the invitation to participate in such a large-scale and significant event. He noted that Tajikistan has all the prerequisites for sustainable development. “In this regard, Tajikistan actively supports global initiatives for sustainable development. In addition to the main theme of the exposition will be presented the economic, historical, cultural and tourism achievements of Tajikistan, as well as will be showed the traditions and folk crafts”, — noted Sh. Said.
The World EXPO 2020 Dubai will be held from October 20, 2020 to April 10, 2021, for the first time in its history in the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia — under the motto “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future”. It will be attended by more than 180 countries, international organizations, large corporations and companies. It is expected that EXPO 2020 Dubai will be visited by more than 25 million guests, 70% of which will be from abroad.
The official venue for the EXPO 2020 will be the new Dubai Trade Center — a building in the Jebel Ali area of 438 hectares, designed specifically for the exhibition. The exhibition will be erected just a few minutes from the new Al Maktoum International Airport at an equal distance from Dubai and Abu Dhabi. While designing exhibition complex were taken into account the principles of environmental friendliness, as well as was created a system of solar panels capable of producing up to 50% of the energy required for the exhibition.
