Delegation of Tajikistan Participated at the High-level Meeting on Middle-Income Countries in New York
DUSHANBE, 06.12.2018. /NIAT “Khovar”/. On 4th December 2018, the Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan Mr. Tojiddin Jurazoda participated and addressed the High-level Meeting to discuss the challenges of middle-income countries in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, reported the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan.
In his statement, Mr. Jurazoda noted that over the past 15 years, Tajikistan has made significant achievements in many areas, including in the socio-economic fields. He also stated that in this period Tajikistan has adopted its National Development Strategy to 2030 and 2 strategies for poverty reduction for 2007-2009 and 2010-2012.
As a result of the necessary reforms and the implementation of the relevant programs and strategies, Tajikistan has made enormous progress in reducing the poverty rate from 81% to 30.3%, added Mr. Jurazoda.
