President Emomali Rahmon inspects National Garden of Tajikistan
DUSHANBE, 15.12.2018. (NIAT Khovar) – The Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon accompanied by Dushanbe Chairman Rustami Emomali visited “National Garden of Tajikistan”, located in the western part of the capital and learned about the growing of fruit and decorative trees.
The National Garden of Tajikistan was created in 2006 on the basis of the former Tajik National University’s Botanical Garden.
The total area of the park is approximately 95 hectares, out of which 63 hectares are planted with fruit-bearing trees, including those bearing pears, cherries, plums, peaches, palms, quince, apricots, as well as nuts, almonds and grapes. Its harvest is exported outside the country. Decorative trees are grown on an area of about 10 hectares.
During learning about the growing of fruit and decorative trees, the Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon recommended Dushanbe chairman and directors of city’s culture and recreation parks to use potential of the National Garden for planting of greenery in the country’s capital, i.e. turning Dushanbe into a city of flowers.
The head of state also gave instructions to extend the area of the National Garden to 180 hectares as well as recommended responsible persons on cultivating different plants and flowers in the territory of Garden.
