Tajik, Uzbek Leaders Exchange New Year Greetings
DUSHANBE, 28.12.2018 (NIAT Khovar). The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon had a telephone conversation with the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
During the telephone conversation, which took place in a friendly atmosphere, the officials exchanged warm New Year greetings and wholeheartedly wished peace, well-being and prosperity to the friendly peoples of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
The leaders of the two states noted the high dynamics of Tajik-Uzbek relations in the outgoing year, as well as the positive developments in the field of regional partnership, which is increasingly filled with new practical content in accordance with the fundamental interests of Central Asian nations.
President of Tajikistan expressed his appreciation for the Uzbekistani president’s contribution to the development of these creative processes.
They reaffirmed their intention to continue strengthening the long-term Tajik-Uzbek strategic partnership in all areas of mutual interest.
The heads of state also discussed a number of regional and international issues.
