Khatlon Province Witnessed a High Influx of Tourists in 2018
BOKHTAR, 17.01.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – The interdepartmental meeting of the Tourism Council of Khatlon was held yesterday in the city of Bokhtar. Deputy Chairman of Khatlon Makhfirat Khidirzoda presided over the meeting.
“More than 225,000 tourists visited the Khatlon province in 2018. Of this number, 7,758 were foreign tourists,” said Shamsullo Salimzoda, the head of the Tourism Department of the province during the meeting.
“A new map was prepared for visitors, which can help them can get information about tourist destinations. An information center for tourists will start functioning in Bokhtar soon,” he added.
Today, 581 historical and cultural objects, 73 hotels, 31 museums, 27 recreational areas and hospitals and 125 restaurants are open in Khatlon. Additionally, there are 18 travel agencies, including Oriyon in the city of Kulob, Guli Sangin in Norak, Sayoh Asri 21 and Sairi Jahon in Bokhtar, Sari Khosor Travel in Baljuvon, Morkhur, Nodir Tour and Muhofiz in Shamsiddini Shohin.
