Tajik Ambassador to China Met with New SCO Secretary General
DUSHANBE, 08.01.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – The Ambassador of Tajikistan to China Parviz Davlatzoda met with the new Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Vladimir Norov today at the SCO Secretariat in Beijing.
The parties shared their views on the confluence of political, economic and humanitarian development in the SCO region. Current international issues were also touched upon, reported the SCO Secretariat.
The meeting focused on the preparation and organization of SCO’s main events in 2019, including the meetings of the Council of Heads of SCO member states in Bishkek and the Council of Heads of Governments (Prime Ministers) of the SCO member states in Tashkent.
“The dynamic growth of SCO’s image and authority in the regional and international arena sets before the secretariat a large-scale task of preserving good traditions, as well as to improving the mechanism of secretariat’s work in order to successfully accomplish all the tasks facing the organization,” said Norov.
Davlatzoda congratulated the SCO official on assuming his new post, and in wishing him success in achieving set goals expressed his readiness to provide support to implement the outlined plans.
