Tajikistan and India Will Strengthen Customs Cooperation
DUSHANBE, 22.02.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – The Head of the Customs Service (CS) under the Government of Tajikistan Khurshed Karimzoda met with the Ambassador of India to Tajikistan Somnath Ghosh in Dushanbe to discuss the issues relating to the bilateral cooperation between the two states’ customs bodies.
During the meeting the parties also touched upon the implementation of the agreement between the governments of Tajikistan and India on cooperation and mutual assistance in customs policies, reported the CS.
This agreement was signed in May 2018 in Delhi by Karimzoda and the Chairperson of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs of India Vanaja N. Sarna. The agreement was approved by the decree of the government of Tajikistan in August 2018.
This agreement is aimed at the development of customs cooperation, especially the exchange of information on the use of control technology, the transit of goods and vehicles, bilateral trade, mutual assistance and advanced training of customs officials.
