Tajikistan Produced Nearly Two Million Tons of Coal in 2018
DUSHANBE, 13.02.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – Over 1,907,000 tons of coal was mined in 2018, informed the Minister of Industry and New Technologies of Tajikistan Zarobiddin Faizullozoda at a press conference. This is the largest amount yet .
“During the reporting period coal was produced by 12 coal-mining enterprises in nine fields. Mine Fon-Yagnob, which produced 46.3% of the total, Talco-Resource 23% and Tajik Metallurgical Plant, which produced 18%, all made significant contributions toward this achievement,” noted Faizullozoda.
“As of January 1, 2019, the coal reserve in the warehouses of industrial enterprises, taking into account the remainder of 2017, is more than 377,000 tons,” Faizillozoda added.
“In order to increase the capacity of the coal industry in 2018, new mining and quarry equipment worth 44 million somoni were purchased and implemented, which is 23 million somoni more than in 2017,” Faizullozoda continued.
