President Emomali Rahmon held a telephone conversation with President of Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov
DUSHANBE, 14.03.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – Today, the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon had a telephone conversation with the President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov.
During the talks the two presidents discussed issues relating to the Tajik – Kyrgyz relationship. In this context, the two leaders exchanged their opinions regarding the conflict that took place on March 13 in the border areas of the two countries.
The leaders agreed to give appropriate instructions to the competent authorities for thorough investigation of the incident which has resulted in multiple casualties. Both leaders emphasized the necessity of overcoming the situation through negotiations.
Jeenbekov conveyed his deepest condolences and sympathies to the family and close relatives of Hussein Hakimov, a Tajik citizen who was killed as a result of the border conflict.
