Foreign Minister of Tajikistan Participated in the CIS Ministerial Council Meeting in Moscow
DUSHANBE, 08.04.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan Sirodjiddin Muhriddin took part in the meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CMFA CIS) in Moscow, Russia.
During the meeting, Muhriddin expressed the position of Tajikistan on important issues relating to the international agenda and stressed the need to join efforts in the fight against modern challenges and threats, including terrorism and extremism. Muhriddin also paid attention to cooperation between the Commonwealth states in such areas as trade, transportation, communication and culture, reported the Tajik Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Following the meeting, a number of issues were decided on, including the draft statement of the heads of state of the CIS member states on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the start of World War II, the appeal of the foreign ministers of the CIS member states on the need to preserve and properly care for World War II graves and monuments, and the draft agreement on the coordination of interstate relations in the field of basic research of the CIS member states.
