DUSHANBE, 22.04.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon gave an interview with the People’s Daily, China Central Television (CCTV) and Xinhua News Agency.

Close neighbors and reliable strategic partners, Tajikistan and China’s bilateral cooperation extends to political, economic, trade, cultural and humanitarian spheres. Both states cooperate in the international arena and are members of authoritative international organizations, including the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

Tajikistan is one of SCO’s active members, and President Emomali Rahmon is one of the leading initiators of proposals for international and regional problems, as well as an active participant in the development of cooperative relations among member countries.

The leadership of the state and the government of Tajikistan always declare their commitment to the development, expansion and strengthening of relations with China, especially in addressing global issues and realizing the constructive goals for the benefit of humanity. Tajikistan has shown great interest in further developing and expanding trade and economic cooperation within the framework of the historical initiative One Belt, One Road and the revival of the Great Silk Road.

Considering the important and stable position of Tajikistan in the implementation of the promising One Belt, One Road initiative, ahead of Tajik – Chinese talks and the second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in Beijing, influential Chinese media correspondents interviewed President Emomali Rahmon. During the interview, President Emomali Rahmon gave specific and informative answers to the questions of Chinese correspondents regarding the goals and priorities of One Belt, One Road initiative in ensuring sustainable and steady development of friendship and cooperation between the strategic Tajikistan-China partnership, Tajikistan’s contribution as well as that of the neighboring states to strengthening regional cooperation for the benefit of the people of the two countries, as well as other areas of bilateral relations.
