President Emomali Rahmon meets Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Nguyễn Xuân Phúc
DUSHANBE, 26.04.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – Today on the sidelines of his official visit to China and on the margins of the second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon held talks with the Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Nguyễn Xuân Phúc.
The Tajik – Vietnamese relationship, both in bilateral and multilateral formats, was discussed during the meeting. President Emomali Rahmon noted that such meetings serve as a valuable opportunity for discussing the current state and prospects of the development of Tajik-Vietnamese relations.
The counterparts voiced their satisfaction with the level and quality of cooperation between the two countries over the past of 27 years, since the establishment of diplomatic relations.
It was stressed that the high-level dialogue, mutual visits of the heads of state, political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of both countries, establishment of permanent diplomatic mission and parliamentary friendship groups help in achieving mutually beneficial goals for the benefit of the two nations.
In order to promote further development and expansion of bilateral relations, a proposal was made to sign important cooperation documents in the fields of healthcare, education, agriculture, communication, sports, science, culture, and an agreement on the avoidance of double taxation, which are all currently under consideration. Issues relating to tourism were also touched upon.
The two leaders discussed a number of topical matters concerning bilateral relations and cooperation within the framework of International organizations.
