DUSHANBE, 28.04.2019. (NIAT Khovar) –  Joined by the leaders of participating countries at the second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon took part in the opening ceremony of the International Horticultural Exhibition 2019 organized under the theme “Live Green, Live Better,” in Beijing.

Following the opening ceremony, President Emomali Rahmon visited Tajikistan’s space with its own theme «Horticultural and Rural Development.” Its space encompassing 100 square meters showcases a variety of goods and products made in Tajikistan, as well as reference materials about its tourist destinations. Exhibition visitors were able to taste different types of Tajik soft drinks, water, honey, dried fruits, and inspect semiprecious gemstones and souvenirs from Tajikistan. The items are presented in the large booth which was built to resemble Tajikistan’s nature and included mountains, clear water, its tourist destinations and historical monuments. The space also included Hydroelectric Power Plant projects, which showcases the country’s large hydropower resources.

The Expo, which opened on April 28, will last 162 days until October 7. It is expected to host over 110 countries and international organizations, as well as more than 120 non-official exhibitors and around 16 million visitors. The expo covers 503 hectares and is situated at the foot of the Great Wall in the Chinese capital’s Yanqing district.
