Repatriation of Tajik Citizens Discussed in Damascus
DUSHANBE, 24.05.2019. (NIAT Khovar) — On May 21-23, the Ambassador of Tajikistan in the State of Kuwait Zubaydullo Zubaydzoda paid a working visit to Syria’s capital.
Zubaydzoda met with the Syrian First Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Al-Mekdad, reported the Tajik Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Zubaydzoda handed over a letter on behalf of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Syria Walid Al-Muallem in order to strengthen bilateral relations.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the development of bilateral relations between the two countries, the establishment of mutually beneficial cooperation, especially in the fight against terrorism and extremism, as well as the number and identification of Tajik citizens and their repatriation.
The officials stressed the need for the exchange of official visits at different levels and for holding ministerial political consultations in 2019.
