Tajikistan Highlights Women’s Empowerment at UN CSW Event

On March 11, 2026, on the sidelines of the 70th session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women, Nigina Alizoda, deputy minister of foreign affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, participated in and addressed an event titled “The Vital Role of Women: Building Alliances for Empowerment.”
In her remarks, Alizoda emphasized that women’s empowerment is a key factor in sustainable development, contributing to stronger societies, economic growth and stability.
She noted that strengthening women’s rights and opportunities is a priority area of state policy in Tajikistan and that women’s participation across different sectors of society has expanded in recent years.
Alizoda also reaffirmed Tajikistan’s readiness to continue cooperation with international partners to advance the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and promote gender equality.
