DUSHANBE, 11.09.2019 (NIAT Khovar) – On the evening of September 11, the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon attended a gala event celebrating the 28th anniversary of state independence, which took place at the Kulob amphitheater.

President Emomali Rahmon congratulated the noble, brave and strong inhabitants of the ancient city of Kulob with Independence Day and the launch of the second hydro unit of the Rogun Hydroelectric Power Plant.

While expressing his gratitude to the hospitable people of Kulob for the warm and sincere welcome accorded to him, President Emomali Rahmon also thanked them for their support of the creative and constructive government policies and wished the city prosperity and success to its glorious people.

President Emomali Rahmon expressed his opinion on Tajikistan’s significant achievements during the period of independence, in particular ensuring peace and stability, restoration of the constitutional order, protection of national sovereignty and saving the nation from disintegration.

It was emphasized that with the support of the government, 15 investment projects in the fields of education, health care, utilities and agriculture are being completed in Kulob. To date, work has been completed in the amount of about 120 million somoni.

According to the improvement plan, for a worthy celebration of the 30th anniversary of independence, the construction and reconstruction of more than of 1,000 objects are planned in Kulob.

Last year saw the completion of 64 socio-economic facilities and 44 other facilities have already been renovated. The construction and reconstruction of 271 objects is planned for this year. Over 60 objects have already been completed in the past six months. The construction and renovation of facilities is continuing at an accelerated rate. Over 200 other facilities will be commissioned before the end of 2019.

President Emomali Rahmon expressed his confidence that with the implementation of creative measures before the celebration of the 30th anniversary of independence, the problems of national economy in cities and rural communities will be completely eliminated, and all the necessary conditions for people will be created.

It is also worth noting that within the framework of the working visit of the head of state to Kulob, 16 objects of various purposes have been commissioned and 35 other objects have been inaugurated with the participation of members of the government. All in all, 500 new jobs have been created as a result.
