President Emomali Rahmon Meets Prince Karim Aga Khan IV
DUSHANBE, 07.11.2019 (NIAT Khovar) – The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with Prince Karim Aga Khan IV on November 7 during his official visit to France.
The meeting focused on the current status and prospects of Tajikistan — Aga Khan Development Network and the issues relating to the implementation of projects, cooperation in the fields of economy, agriculture, construction, rural development, education and health care and culture, environmental protection and impacts of natural disasters.
President Emomali Rahmon expressed his satisfaction over the level and content of the current cooperation between Tajikistan and Aga Khan Development Network. While discussing economic development cooperation, special attention was paid to win-win cooperation between Tajikistan and the Aga Khan Development Network, especially through Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development and its public and private companies in Tajikistan.
Several current issues of bilateral cooperation related to implementation of state-strategic programs, such as achieving energy independence, breaking the communication deadlock, building bridges and establishing cross-border markets in Tajikistan’s border areas with Afghanistan were also discussed.
The contribution of the University of Central Asia in Khorog to the development of educational sphere was mentioned as of vital importance. Both sides expressed their willingness to further develop and expand the relationship.
