President Emomali Rahmon Receives Former President of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai
DUSHANBE, 13.11.2019 (NIAT Khovar) – The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon received the former President of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai, who arrived in Tajikistan on a friendly visit. The meeting took place in the Palace of the Nation on November 13.
The discussion focused on the development and expansion of friendly and neighborly Tajik — Afghan relationship.
President Emomali Rahmon expressed his satisfaction with the opportunity to meet with Karzai.
The two sides had a fruitful discussion about a wide range of issues related to the bilateral relationship, as well as the current status and future prospects for the development of the national economy of Afghanistan, ensuring peace and stability and other regional and international matters.
Both sides noted the necessity of actively using all available resources to maintain peace and stability in the region, promoting a culture of tolerance and to preventing acts of terrorism, extremism and drug trafficking.
