Sughd Region Delegation Visits Belarus
DUSHANBE, 29.11.2019 (NIAT Khovar) – A delegation of business circles and heads of various structures led by the Chairman of Sughd Rajabboy Ahmadzoda visited Belarus.
The delegation met with the acting Chairman of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee Igor Makar on November 25.
The meeting focused on the prospects for cooperation. The parties expressed their readiness to strengthen trade and economic relations.
Bilateral cooperation between the two countries is expanding annually due to the friendly relations of the two states and the far-sighted policies of presidents Emomali Rahmon and Alexander Lukashenko.
“There are many opportunities for expanding trade relations between Sughd and Belarusian regions,” noted Ahmadzoda.
“The Sughd Region is famous for the production of cotton, silk, honey, and the cultivation of various types of fruits, vegetables and berries. We are interested in exporting agricultural products to the Belarusian markets, as well as in creating joint ventures in Sughd for the processing of fruits, vegetables, and cotton, for the production of knitwear, and sewing outerwear from flax,” said Ahmadzoda.
Igor Makar noted his support for Ahmadzoda’s idea on the creation of joint ventures.
While in Belarus, the economic opportunities of Minsk were presented to the Tajik delegation. While visiting enterprises in the Minsk region, the delegation held talks and meetings with Belarusian entrepreneurs.
The delegation also visited the Mogilev region, where Ahmadzoda met with the Deputy Chairman of the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee Valery Malashko.
The trade turnover between Tajikistan and Belarus in 2018 amounted to $14.5 million.
