Beijing Issues a Series of Commemorative Envelopes Devoted to the Anniversary of the Establishment of Tajik and Chinese Diplomatic Relations
DUSHANBE, 10.01.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – A ceremonial presentation of commemorative envelopes devoted to the 28th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Tajikistan and China took place at the Beijing Jin Tai Art Museum. This event was initiated by the Tajik Embassy in China in collaboration with the Chinese Foreign Ministry and the China Peace and Development Fund.
Tajik and Chinese diplomatic relations were established on January 4, 1992.
The labeled envelopes with a total circulation of 50,000 copies the day before was carried out by the Peace and Development Fund.
The authors of the main image titled “Dance at the Foot of the Pamirs” are Tajik artist Gafur Juraev and his Chinese colleague Chen Jiang.
The image includes a group of Tajik girls wearing the folk costume Chakan, dancing merrily in an alpine meadow. In the background are snow-capped mountains and clear blue lakes. The richly colored and transparent golden artwork symbolizes that the peoples of Tajikistan and China are close, as one family, in a harmonious rhythm, dancing hand in hand along the Great Silk Road.
The commemorative envelope also includes the main symbol of the painting “The Golden Silk Road Bridge” by Chinese artist Shu Yun.
The design and production of commemorative envelopes are aimed at creating a “cultural bridge” between China and other countries.
