Deputy Prime Minister Azim Ibrohim Inspects Construction of Dushanbe-Bokhtar Highway
DUSHANBE, 06.01.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – Inspecting the highway, Ibrohim noted that the completion of the highway will smooth the progress of the domestic turnover, reducing transportation costs, improving people’s well-being and, in general, the economic growth of the country.
Ibrohim has reportedly ordered to speed up the progress of the rehabilitation of the highway, stressing the inacceptability of the current speed of progress.
The first phase of this project includes the rehabilitation of a 33-kilometer section of the highway and construction of eight bridges, including one big bridge across the Kofarnihon River as well as underground passageways.
The second phase includes the rehabilitation of a 39.6-kilometer section of the highway and construction of eight bridges, five underground passageways, one pedestrian crossing and the renovation of one existing bridge.
The rehabilitation of the Dushanbe-Bokhtar highway is expected to be completed by August 2021.
