46 Evacuated Tajik Students Resume Normal Activities Following 14 Days in Quarantine

DUSHANBE, 27.02.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, 63 Tajik citizens, who were quarantined in the Kharangon medical sanatorium in Varzob district, were discharged, reports the Tajik Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population.

Of these, 46 are students, 17 employees of Somon Air and the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense under the government of Tajikistan, who accompanied students during their evacuation from the Chinese city of Wuhan.

Sharifzoda Doctor“During this period individuals under quarantine were supervised by doctors. Their temperature was regularly measured,” the Deputy Chief Physician of the City Clinical Infectious Diseases Hospital Turakhon Sharifzoda noted.

“They did not show flu-like symptoms associated with he virus. Following 14 days in quarantine, they were all discharged,” Sharifzoda said.

On February 11, 46 Tajik students living in Wuhan were evacuated by Somon Air.

According to the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population, from February 1 through February 24, 1,148 citizens who arrived in Tajikistan from China, were quarantined in the country’s infectious disease hospitals.

Of these, as of February 26, 955 people were discharged and 193 people are still in quarantine.
