Japanese Government Will Finance Five More Projects in Tajikistan
DUSHANBE, 26.02.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – A signing ceremony for five new projects took place yesterday at the Japanese Embassy in Dushanbe. The total grant for the new projects is $303,590.
The grant contracts were signed between the Ambassador of Japan in Tajikistan Takayuki Miyashita and the representatives of the Aga Khan Foundation Tajikistan and Affiliate of Oxfam GB in Tajikistan.
The projects are funded through Japan’s grant assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) and directed toward the development of healthcare, social spheres and access to drinking water. They are:
— Project for Rehabilitation of Youth Center in Khorog and three Projects for Construction of Healthcare Centers in Darvoz, Rushon and Shughnon Districts of Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, signed with AKF Tajikistan CEO Kishwar Abdulalishoev, for the amount of $217,490.
— The Project for Improvement of Drinking Water System in 4 Villages in Zaynabobod Rural Community of Rudaki District, signed with Country Director of Oxfam GB in Tajikistan Shovcat Alizadeh, for the amount of $86,100.
During the ceremony, Miyashita made a remark that Japan has been able to contribute to the sustainable development of Tajikistan through various projects implemented all across the country and that these projects in particular aim to contribute to the creation of a better environment for the vulnerable people in the remote areas.
