PM Rasulzoda Examines Farms Activities in Dusti District
BOKHTAR, 23.04.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – While on working trip to Khatlon Province, Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kohir Rasulzoda accompanied by provincial Chairman Kurbon Hakimzoda visited the Yangiobod Dam located in the Dusti district.
The two kilometer canal’s volume of water ranges from 20 through 30 cubic meters. It irrigates over 9,000 ha of land via water pumps. Over 120 ha of land are irrigated without pumps, reports the provincial administration.
Rasulzoda was informed that 407 trucks with stones and gravel were brought to restore the canal with assistance of specialists of the Land Reclamation and Irrigation Department of Dusti district in collaboration with Huntai Khatlon Sin Sulu.
Rasulzoda and Hakimzoda also visited the homestead of businessman Ergash Sattorov, who has 0.27 hectares of land and a permanent greenhouse in Dusti, where he has planted tomatoes, bell peppers and other crops. Cucumbers and melons occupy 0.17 ha in seasonal greenhouses.
In a talk with Rasulzoda and Hakimzoda, Sattorov noted that he grows three crops each year and receives a net profit of between 90,000 and 100,000 somoni per year.
Rasulzoda and the Province Chairman also got acquainted with the state of the pumping station No. 1 in Garuti in Dusti. Eight units of the pumping station pump from 18 through 22 cubic meters of water per second, which is supplied to other pumping stations, and then to rural communities and settlements. Dehkonobod, Nuri Vakhsh and the 20th anniversary of the Independence of Tajikistan rural communities are provided with irrigation water.
In the Fayzi-5 farm and Nuri Vakhsh rural community, Rasulzoda highly praised the work of the farmers and instructed them to use each plot of land more efficiently. The head of Fayzi-5 Vahhob Turdiev noted that farmers annually receive a net profit of up to 80,000 somoni.
