DUSHANBE, 21.04.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – A meeting of the Representatives Assembly’s Council was held yesterday. The meeting was chaired by Representatives Assembly Speaker Mahmadtoir Zokirzoda.

The meeting focused on issues relating to the drafts Laws of Tajikistan On Legal Assistance, On Amendments and Additions to the Law On Advocacy, On Amendments and Additions to the Law On Licensing Certain Types of Activities, On Amendments to the Procedural Code of Administrative Offenses, On Amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code, On Amendments to the Civil Procedure Code and other issues, reports Representatives Assembly’s Press Center.

“The draft Law on Legal Assistance was implemented in order to improve the state system to  provide free and qualified legal assistance to the population,” said the Chairman of Representatives Assembly’s Committee on Legislation and Human Rights Emomali Nasriddinzoda.

Subsidiaries will cover the initial costs of the project. According to the agreement, the project budget will begin with 90% of the organization’s share and 10% of the state budget and will gradually increase to 100% by 2025.

The relevant resolutions of the Representatives Assembly’s Council were also adopted on other issues.
