Thousands of Fruit and Ornamental Trees Planted in Gharm
RASHT, 17.04.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – Activists, intellectuals and employees of various organizations, institutions and structures of the national economy of Rasht have planted more than 9,000 fruit, ornamental and shade trees in Mundanul foothill of Gharm.
Over 720 fruit trees have been planted on 6 hectares and 1,020 shade trees on 10 hectares in Mundanul foothill last year, said the head of the Rasht district’s forestry department Abdulaziz Kalandarov.
This year, 6,450 apricot, walnut and rosehip fruit trees have been planted on 7 hectares, with 4,200 shade trees and 100 ornamental trees on 4 hectares.
There are 1,750 hectares of forest and 1 hectare of greenhouses in the Rasht district.
As part of the action plan for a worthy celebration of the 30th anniversary of state independence, 20 hectares of new forests will be planted and 60 hectares of old forests will be rehabilitated in the near future.
