Khatlon Exports 101 Tons of Plums
DUSHANBE, 28.05.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, Khatlon region exported another 50 tons of plums to Russia. Local entrepreneurs loaded plums from the Kushoniyon district in special boxes and shipped them to St. Petersburg to be delivered by truck.
The day before, gardeners of Jaloliddini Balkhi district with the assistance of the Representative Office of the Export Agency in Khatlon exported 51 tons of this fruit.
To date, the districts of Jaloliddini Balkhi, Kushoniyon and Jaihun exported a total of 139 tons of fruit with the addition of lemons. The fruit export season, as experts point out, has just begun.
This year, according to the forecast, 90,000 tons of fruits and vegetables will be exported just from Khatlon.
As of May 27, this plan has been fulfilled by 40.5%, and over 36.4 tons of fruits and vegetables, including 36.2 tons of onions have been exported, which is more than in the same period last year.
Agricultural products of Khatlon are mainly exported to Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Russia and Kyrgyzstan.
