Khuroson Residents Affected by Mudflows Receive More Assistance
DUSHANBE, 03.06.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – Today, additional assistance was provided to the 67 families of Khuroson district, whose houses were partially or completely destroyed as a result of mudflows.
The aid consisting of flour, butter, rice, sugar, pasta and peas, was distributed to families on behalf of Prime Minister Kohir Rasulzoda, reported the Information and Analytical Department of Khatlon Administration.
Each of 67 families was allotted 8 hectares of land and building materials in the district’s Chorbog settlement. The construction of new houses has begun.
Earlier 33 truckloads of food, building materials and medical supplies were delivered to the affected individials, as well as doctors and patients in Khuroson.
In addition to approximately 80 tonnes of food, the assistance package included 3,700 sheets of slate, 180 tonnes of cement, 78 tonnes of reinforcement, and 750 square meters of construction timber.
The mudslides occured between May 14 through May 16 in the villages of Nematullo Asadullo, 18th Party Congress, Khuroson and Pakhtaobod in the Khuroson district. As a result, 338 houses were affected, of which 14 were completely destroyed.
