President Emomali Rahmon Holds Meeting with Security Council’s Permanent Members

DUSHANBE, 21.07.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon held a meeting with permanent members of the Security Council of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The meeting was attended by permanent members and members of the Security Council, the Chairman of the Supreme Court, heads of intelligence and law enforcement agencies.
The discussion focused on the complicating situation on the Tajikistan-Afghanistan state border in the southern part of the GBAO.
Taking into account the escalating political situation, President Rahmon instructed the attendees to strengthen the border protection capacity and ensure state and national security, in particular in the areas that border Afghanistan.
The prevention of violations at the state border, including the prevention of transnational organized crime, terrorism, extremism and drug trafficking were also discussed.
In addition, the participants talked about increasing the level of readiness of military units and improving their logistics as well as increasing patriotism, responsibility and professionalism of the employees of the judiciary, military and law enforcement agencies.
