DUSHANBE, 14.08.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, the Minister of Culture Zulfiya Davlatzoda met with the Russian Deputy Minister of Culture Olga Yarilova.

Davlatzoda presented brief information on the ministry’s activities and achievements in the field of culture.

She noted that the construction of large cultural sites, including the National Library, the National Museum, the new building of the National Theater, hundreds of buildings and cultural sites are one of many recent achievements.

The meeting focused on the prospects and possibilities of cooperation in other areas of culture, including library and publishing, information exchange, training of Tajik specialists in Russian sectoral institutes and universities, organization of short-term courses, exchange of experience, coverage of skilled artisans for training, creation of conditions and opportunities for young cultural workers for postgraduate and doctoral studies in Russian higher educational institutions.

The parties also discussed the issues relating to the activities of Mayakovsky State Russian Drama Theater, education of thespians, organization of the exchange of books, access to fiction in the country’s libraries, the translation of works of classics and modern Russian authors into the Tajik language and Tajik writers into Russian.

They also expressed readiness to develop mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of culture using the existing experience in resolving issues of mutual interest.
