Economic Development Minister Has Online Meeting with IMF Mission

DUSHANBE, 19.08.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, the Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavki Zavkizoda met with a mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) led by Padamja Khandelwal via video conference.
The parties discussed the trends of the world economy, the socio-economic situation over the last six months, and the measures taken by the government to prevent the impact of internal and external threats, particularly the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, the prospects for economic growth in the medium-term future, as well as ongoing reforms and future plans.
The parties also expressed their readiness to further expand cooperation in reducing or preventing the negative consequences of the coronavirus pandemic in the national economy and maintaining macroeconomic stability.
