DUSHANBE, 03.09.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – Today, per government’s instructions, 347 Tajik citizens were returned from Kazakhstan.
They were temporarily at the Zhibek Zholy checkpoint on the Kazakh-Uzbek border, unable to return due to border closures. They were transported by buses.
Their return was organized in cooperation with the relevant authorities of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, as well as the Regional Office of the International Organization for Migration in Central Asia.
Since March 16, due to the declaration of a state of emergency in Kazakhstan and the introduction of restrictive measures in Uzbekistan in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic, restrictions on entry to the territory of both countries were imposed.
