Tajikistan Considers the Introduction of Parliamentary Elections as New Historical Stage in Qatar’s Development

DUSHANBE, 17.12.2020 (NIAT Khovar) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan considers the announcement made by the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on holding elections to the Majlisi Shura (parliament) in October 2021 as the beginning of a new historical stage in the development and prosperity of Qatar.
The ministry emphasizes that this initiative, which is the first in the legislative history of Qatar, is an important step towards strengthening the traditions of the Majlisi Shura and the development of the legislative and democratic process in the country with the participation of citizens.
