Dushanbe Hosts SCO Council of National Coordinators Meeting

DUSHANBE, 27.01.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – The SCO Council of National Coordinators meeting is being held in Dushanbe under the chairmanship of the Tajik side, reports the SCO Secretariat.
The host side organized online monitoring of the event for the permanent representatives of the member states to the SCO Secretariat and staff of the Organization’s headquarters.
Yesterday, the Tajik side briefed the participants on the preparations for the next SCO summit, the ministerial meeting, as well as other events at the ministerial and expert levels.
The parties exchanged views on the draft agendas presented by the presiding side, lists of documents planned to be signed during the meetings of the SCO Heads of State and Foreign Ministers.
The National Coordinators also discussed the drafts of the Plan of Major SCO Events for 2021 and the Program of Cooperation between the SCO Foreign Ministries for 2021.
The meeting will continue until January 29.
The Council of National Coordinators coordinates the SCO current activities and ensures the interaction between the SCO relevant ministries and departments.
Tajikistan took over the chairmanship following the SCO Council of Heads of State meeting held on November 10, 2020.
The chairmanship of Tajikistan coincided with the Organization’s twentieth anniversary and it is held under the motto 20 years of the SCO: cooperation for stability and prosperity.
