Tajik and Russian FMs Hold a Telephone Conversation

DUSHANBE, 10.02.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirojiddin Muhriddin had a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov.
The ministers exchanged views on topical issues of bilateral cooperation and the international agenda.
They noted that the 17th meeting of the Tajik-Russian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, which was held in Moscow on February 8-9, will contribute to the development of the entire range of bilateral trade and economic relations.
Muhriddin and Lavrov also discussed issues of cooperation within the framework of international and regional organizations, including within the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
In the light of Tajikistan’s presidency in the CSTO and the upcoming meetings of the organization’s statutory bodies this year in Dushanbe, the state and prospects of cooperation within the CSTO were also considered.
The parties reaffirmed their interest in further expanding and strengthening multifaceted cooperation and strategic partnership between the two countries.
