DUSHANBE, 05.03.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – On March 5, the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon received the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) Nikolay Podguzov.
The discussion focused on further expansion of cooperation between Tajikistan and the Eurasian Development Bank.
«Tajikistan is interested in developing mutually beneficial cooperation with the Eurasian Development Bank, including in attracting investment in priority sectors of the economy,» said President Rahmon.
Expressing their satisfaction with the current level of bilateral cooperation, and the initiative of the government of Russia on the implementation of the five secondary school network project in Tajikistan with Russian-language lessons, which is implemented through the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development.
The sides also discussed the opportunities for fruitful cooperation and investment attraction for the development of the industry, including mining and mineral processing, food processing, and light manufacturing.
In the energy sector, the bank’s participation in the implementation of projects for the construction and reconstruction of small and large-scale hydropower plants and transmission lines was noted as vitally important.
The sides also had constructive talks on other issues of mutual interest.
